[1]IFthere is a lawsuit between a man and his neighbor, they shall come before the judges, and the judges shall judge them; and they shall acquit the innocent, and condemn the guilty.
[2]Andit shall be, if the guilty man deserves punishment, the judge shall cause him to lie down, and have him flogged in his presence, according to his offense, with a certain number of stripes.
[3]Fortystripes he may give him, but not more; test, if he should exceed, and scourge him above this number of stripes, then your brother would be hurt severely before your eyes.
[4]Youshall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain
[5]Whenbrothers dwell together, and one of them dies, and has no son, the wife of the dead shall not marry to a stranger; but her husband's brother shall take her, and she shall become his wife, and he shall perform the duty of a brother-in-law to her.
[6]Andit shall be, that the first-born which she bears shall be named after the name of his brother who is dead, that his name may not be forgotten in Israel.
[7]Andif the man refuses to take his brother's wife, then let his brother's wife go up to the gate to the elders, and say, My brother-in-law refuses to raise up to his brother a name in Israel, and is unwilling to take me as a wife.
[8]Thenthe elders of his city shall call him, and speak to him; and if he should rise up and say, I will not take her;
[9]Thenhis sister-in-law shall come to him in the presence of the elders, and loose his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face, and say, So shall it be done to the man who will not raise a family to his brother.
[10]Andhis name shall be called in Israel, the house of him that has his shoe loosed.
[11]Whentwo brothers are fighting, and the wife of one draws near to deliver her husband out of the hands of his adversary, and puts forth her hand, and seizes him by the private parts;
[12]Thenyou shall cut off her hand; your eye shall not pity her
[13]Youshall not have in your bag different weights, a large and a small.
[14]Youshall not have in your house different measures, a large and a small.
[15]Butyou shall have a perfect and just weight; a perfect and a just measure shall you have, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
[16]Forall who do such things and all who act wickedly are an abomination before the LORD Your God.
[17]Rememberall that Amalek did to you by the way, when you came forth out of Egypt;
[18]Howhe met you with the sword, and smote all of those who were left behind you, when you were faint and weary, and he feared not the LORD your God.
[19]Thereforewhen the LORD your God has given you rest from all your enemies round about, in the land which the LORD your God gives you as an inheritance, you shall blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; you shall not forget it
